I honestly thought I was going to get this “newspaper” quality paper that’s thin as the other reviews in other products I kept reading while on the search for practice paper for my newly first grader. In kindergarten she really wasn’t assigned homework specially writing. All of it was done in class. Now that she’s in first grade her teacher is slowly assigning homework for them and reading and writing is a BIG focus.I am sooo happy with my purchase and I JUST received it in the mail. I had been drawing the lines on “mommy’s notebooks” for her to practice on.Thick pages that can handle the wrath of a young child using an eraser and putting pressure w a sharp Pencil.Did I mention how in love I am w the “raised lines”?! Perfect for a young child! This is for us to do homework and practice writing at home. This K-2 Composition book was a requirement for my son entering Kindergarten this year. I searched high and low for this in stores but never, ever found it.
I caved and ordered from Amazon. As for the price, I was a little shocked to see how much one composition book can cost compared to the wide ruled you find in stores. Nearly $5 for one notebook seems steep, but I assume it will be used daily throughout the school year and its for my sons education so it is what it is.What surprises me the most is that this is a mandatory school supply item and it simply cant be found ANYWHERE in stores, can anyone tell me why that is?As other reviewers have stated, there is no left or right margin, something I do believe these notebooks should have so children can learn about proper letter placements. I have been purchasing similar paper, sold in pads. Usually you get about 40 sheets in a pad for $5. Here I got 500 sheets of the same paper for $11 including shipping.
I am simply amazed. The paper is the same quality. The only difference is that it is not in a pad, it is 500 loose sheets wrapped in plastic.
Such an amazing value. I am so glad to have found this.If you are looking for lined paper, you can't go wrong with this. It is the same paper I used in school as a kid. It is not super bright white but more of the off white.
Our daughter's first grade teacher suggested we pick up a set of this paper for additional handwriting practice at home. This is a great ream of lined paper with a variety of line sizes that grows with your young writer.
It is great that it is set up vertically (portrait) instead of horizontally (landscape) like most of the early writing paper that you find. It is oriented tall just like normal notebook paper which makes it easy to insert in pocket folders and makes for a seamless transition to normal writing paper. Your child can write on large lines and graduate to smaller lines for more precise letters. It is a full ream of 500 sheets that is a great value. It is also double sided with lines on both sides which basically gives you 1000 usable pages. Highly recommended for your beginning.
